Newfoundland Young Entrepreneur Returns Home To Launch Medical Aesthetics + Skincare Clinic Franchise
/ST JOHN’S, NL MARCH 22, 2021 -- At the age of 19, Alicia Baker of Little Bay East, NL began working as a Medical Aesthetician at DermaEnvy Skincare’s Halifax clinic after completing her Medical Aesthetics training in Ontario. Now - two years later, after refining her skills, building confidence and working independently in the clinic, Alicia Baker found personal success and quickly realized that owning her own DermaEnvy Skincare franchise might be a dream within reach.
Alicia Baker, DermaEnvy Skincare’s newest franchisee, is excited to bring a new Medical Aesthetics and Laser Clinic to St.John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador in Spring of 2021.
DermaEnvy Skincare, A growing Canadian Laser, Skincare and Medical Aesthetics franchise is continuing its national expansion with the opening of the brands 7th clinic location in St John’s. “Something struck up a chord inside me to take my knowledge and management skills and move home to Newfoundland to do it all over again, but this time as the sole owner and operator.” said Baker of her recent relocation to St John’s.
Through the support and guidance of her employer-turned-franchisor, Cohen MacInnis, President of Wellness Brands Canada Inc., Alicia was able to turn this idea into a reality. “While sad to see her move on from our Halifax clinic, I'm excited and proud of her for the hard work and determination demonstrated in order to achieve this, and her choice to remain part of Team DermaEnvy” said MacInnis.
The micro clinic concept at DermaEnvy Skincare is unique in the industry offering clients small, private and inclusive clinical environments for clients seeking professional skincare treatments - no robe and slippers needed. “My clients love that each time they visit, they speak to and are treated by the same professional, never having to worry about becoming comfortable with a different technician at each visit” said Baker

The St.John’s Clinic is located at 74 O’Leary Avenue - adjacent to provincial shopping hub, Avalon Mall and many other big box brands. Baker looks forward to being back home providing quality and affordable laser and skincare solutions to the community of St.John’s and surrounding areas.
