About Chemical Peels
Our Facial Peel Menu uses professional grade peels, allowing DermaEnvy Skincare to offer various treatments from mild-aggressive in strength to provide a targeted skincare solution to our clients of all skin types.
Chemical peels can improve the skin's appearance. In this treatment, a chemical solution is applied to the skin, which triggers exfoliation of the skin. The new skin is usually smoother, brighter and less damaged than the old skin. An effective skincare solution for those conditions acne, acne scarring, sun damaged skin, aging skin and hyperpigmentation.
Choose from either our selection of Hydropeptide Chemical Peels or our more aggressive clinical peel solutions to achieve your desired results. Hydropeptide Peels are gentle and effective at treating general skin concerns such as dull, dry, aging and even acneic skin. Our clients love that Hydropeptide requires zero downtime and delivers results without the flaking and peeling!
We offer additional clinical peels that are more aggressive in nature and treat concerns such as hyperpigmentation, acne and acne scarring, and deeper lines and wrinkles. These peels generally do result in some mild flaking of skin and require up to 7-10 days to fully recover. The intensity of these peels can be customized by your skin expert to meet your skins unique needs.

Treat your skin with a physical exfoliator once daily for one week before the peel to prepare the skin for ultimate absorption and enhanced results.
One week before the peel avoid waxing, electrolysis, depilatory creams, and laser hair removal.
Two to three days before the peel discontinue using any prescription topicals such as Retin-A, differin or Tazorac, as well as any products containing retinol, alpha hydroxyl acids (AHA), beta hydroxyl acids (BHA) or benzoyl peroxide.
Patients who have had any medical cosmetic facial treatments or procedures such as Laser treatments, cosmetic fillers or other surgical procedures should wait until skin sensitivity has completely resolved before receiving a peel.

Be aware of what to expect post treatment. Normal post-peel reactions include:
Swelling, inflammation, redness or sensitivity
Gradual darkening of the skin in the treated area (the skin will shed)
Flaking, crusting, scabbing or in rare instances oozing.
Opaque or powdery white skin.
Peeling will start 3-5 days after the peel. Do not pick or scratch treated skin but instead keep moisturized.
Avoid strenuous exercise or sweating for 24 hours.
Treat skin gently washing with a gentle cleanser, cool water, using hands only and pat dry (do not rub).
Apply a quality moisturizer to keep dry skin hydrated and to restore some moisture. It should be free of harsh chemicals and irritants (such as acids, fragrance and/or acne treatments) which could upset your already sensitive skin. They should also be water-based as moisturizers with high water content are nice and lightweight on the skin. (Bear in mind that moisturizing will prolong the peeling process because softened skin won’t flake off as quickly.)
As always, be sure to apply SPF daily to protect your especially sensitive skin.

You should not use a skin peel if:
You are currently taking antibiotics, Accutane or oral steroids, or if you have done so within the past year.
You have a tendency to form keloid scars.
You have previously experienced cold sores on the mouth or face or have a health condition that affects your immune system or your body’s ability to heal.
You are undergoing cancer treatments, including chemotherapy and/or radiation.
You have been treated with a hair removal system in the past two days.
IMPORTANT! If you have any questions, please consult a knowledgeable healthcare professional before your appointment.
