Our skin experts use a warm wax specifically designed for use with delicate skin and strips of cotton for all of our waxing treatments. Our DermaEnvy Skincare clients enjoy two different wax varieties; one for body waxing and the other for sensitive areas of the body such as the face, underarm and bikini area. Waxing is a form of semi-permanent hair removal which removes the hair from the root. New hair will not grow back in the previously waxed area for four to six weeks, although some people will start to see regrowth in only a week due to some of their hair being on a different growth cycle. Almost any area of the body can be waxed, including eyebrows, face, pubic area (often called bikini waxing), legs, arms, back, abdomen and feet. There are many types of waxing suitable for removing unwanted hair.
Waxing Treatments Using Soft + Hard Wax
Strip waxing (Soft Wax) is accomplished by spreading a wax thinly over the skin. A cloth or paper strip is applied and pressed firmly, adhering the strip to the wax and the wax to the skin. The strip is then quickly ripped against the direction of hair growth, as parallel as possible to the skin to avoid trauma to the skin (i.e., bruising, broken capillaries, ingrown hairs caused by hair follicle trauma and lifting of skin). This removes the wax along with the hair.
Strip-less wax, also referred to as Hard Wax, is applied somewhat thickly and with no cloth or paper strips. The wax then hardens when it cools, thus allowing the easy removal by a therapist without the aid of cloths. This waxing method is very beneficial to people who have sensitive skin. Strip-less wax does not adhere to the skin as much as strip wax does, thus making it a good option for sensitive skin as finer hairs are more easily removed because the hard wax encapsulates the hair as it hardens. The strip-less waxing method can also be less painful.

This treatment is best described as the cleanup of the sides and/or the hair exposed while wearing a swimsuit. The extended Bikini wax gives you the option of removing beyond the full bikini lines. It covers ONLY the front treatment area. The Male Brazilian is a male version of the popular Brazilian Laser Hair Removal gives the option of removing absolutely everything. All of the hair in front, back, and in between is removed.

PRE + POST WAXING TREATMENT CARE

Hair Length The ideal hair length for your treatment area is approx. 1/4” or 6mm. Some say a grain of rice is an easy way to reference the appropriate length. If you shave, make sure that you come at least three weeks after your last shave. Didn’t have time before your appointment? No worries. We will trim you up before your wax.
Hygiene Take a warm shower before your appointment when possible. Use a loofah to help smooth your skin and prevent ingrown hairs.
Pain Relief To ensure a comfortable appointment, we recommend taking an aspirin 30 minutes before your wax appointment.
Body Scan Give yourself a quick once-over and check for any new or noteworthy scrapes, cuts, moles, cold sores etc. and be sure to let your Skin Expert know of anything before your appointment.
Keep it Natural Skip the lotion, gels and oils. A clean slate will ensure a more comfortable and successful wax. This also applies to tanning up to 24-hours before.

Chill Out Avoid prolonged exposure to heat such as saunas, hot tubs, sun bathing and intense exercise for 24 hours after your wax appointment.
Ditch The Razor We don’t recommend shaving between appointments. Shaving will throw off your natural hair regrowth and cause the hair to grow back coarse.
Keep it Natural To avoid skin irritation, we advise keeping your waxed areas free of any product until the following day.
Take Care Take time to exfoliate and moisturize regularly after and in between wax appointments. This will ensure your skin remains soft, hydrated, and will help prevent irritation and ingrown hairs.
